UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Vieira

This fight night ended up being a pretty sneaky decent card when it was all said and done. No big names but still some competitive fights - of course resulting in controversial split decisions. Below are some of the results from Saturday night.

• Ketlen Vieira defeated Holly Holm by split decision in a back and forth stand up battle

• Michel Pereira defeated Ponzinibbio, also by split decision in a stand up war

• Chidi Njokuani won impressively by one of the more clean standing elbow KO's you will ever see

Stock Up: Jailton Almeida

Jailton Almeida made quick work of Parker Porter Saturday night submitting him in the first round. The most impressive part may have been that Almeida is a 205 lb light heavyweight who moved up to take this fight against Parker Porter who is every ounce of 265 lbs. The reason Almeida had to fight at heavyweight was because the UFC could not find any light heavyweight willing to accept the fight against him on short notice when his original opponent fell out. So as you can see, Almeida is already becoming a name other fighters don't want to go against and you saw why on Saturday night.

Stock Down: Santiago Ponzinibbio

Once considered a potential title contender, Ponzinibbio has now lost 3 out of his last 4 fights. Saturday nights loss was a competitive razor thin split decision, but still, Ponzinibbios days of title contention are long gone, look at him as more of a stepping stone for other title contenders now.

A look at how tight Ketlen Vieira's choke on Holly Holm was. This was a rare standing rear naked choke that Holly somehow managed to escape, although she still was not able to pull off the win on the judges scorecards.
