UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs Fiziev

UFC

After the stacked pay per view from last week, you guessed it, the UFC has an ugly Fight Night card back at the Apex this weekend.

Below are some things to look out for if you tune in Saturday Night:

  • The veteran Rafael Dos Anjos faces the prospect Rafael Fiziev in what should be a competitive main event. Fiziev is coming off 5 wins in a row including this spinning wheel kick KO.

  • Said Nurmagomedov is an impressive 15-2 fighter you should pay attention too. No relation to Khabib though, and is predominately a stand up fighter.

  • Two all action fighters Michael Johnson and Jamie Mullarkey face off in what should be a fun fight

Fights are fights but tough to come off the UFC 276 high to this card.

Fight Schedule

UFC Fight Night: Blachowicz vs Rakic on Saturday 5/14/2022

Prelims - 6:00 EST - ESPN / ESPN +

Main Card -9:00 EST - ESPN / ESPN +

Lock of the Week

Parlay (+109): Dos Anjos vs Fiziev over 2.5 rounds (-300) WITH Johnson vs Mullarkey Under 2.5 rounds (-175)

Make sure you read that lock right, we are going with a little over pick parlayed with an under pick. Cashed last week, lets keep it going.

Some stats behind the reasoning for these picks:

  • 7 of Michael Johnson's last 11 fights ended by finish including 2 of his last 3

  • All 3 of Jamie Mullarkey's last fights didn't reach the third round

  • Dos Anjos is a decision machine. 7 of his last 8 went to the judges.

  • Torres has only gone to the scorecards in 1 of his 14 fights

  • 3 of Fiziev's last 5 fights have gone to decision. I'd like to see that a little more decision heavy, but I trust Dos Anjos to drag this out.

Jake Paul Boxing Update

Sporting News

Jake Paul has a new opponent for his next fight on August 6th.

He was originally scheduled to face the Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury's little brother and Love Island UK star Tommy Fury, but he has backed out using his inability to obtain a visa as the excuse. This marks the second time Jake and Tommy were scheduled to fight until Tommy backed out.

Instead of moving the card with it being only a month away, Jake is now scheduled to face Hasim Rahman Jr. He is 12-1 with 6 KO's. It's a legit inexperienced boxer that is probably a tougher test than Tommy would be, but will have less drama behind it.

"(We) did everything we could to help him and team. He wasn't interested and he literally went into hiding."
